A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, RELATING TO CANYON NO. 3
ANNEXATION, GIVING NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ANNEX,
AND SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE CONSIDERA-
TION OF WRITTEN PROTESTS AGAINST SAID ANNEXATION,
AND OTHERWISE PROVIDING THEREFOR.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, on the 26th day of March, 1975, the Local Agency Forma-
tion Commission, after due notice and public hearing as required by law,
approved the proposed annexation of the City of Costa Mesa, designated
as Canyon No. 3 Annexation; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 35305, Government Code, not less than
one-fourth of the landowners in the territory have signed and filed with
the City Clerk petitions requesting said annexation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to set a date for hearing of
written protests, if any, against said annexation; and
WHEREAS, Section 35307, Government Code, provides that said
hearing shall be not less than 40 nor more than 60 days after the
passage of said Resolution;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Canyon No.
3 Annexation, a true
and correct legal description of which is attached
to this
Resolution
marked Exhibit "A", and by this specific reference
made a
part hereof,
is to be annexed to the City of Costa Mesa and to
become a
part and
portion of its corporate limits.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a public hearing,
for the
purpose of
hearing written protests by owners of property within
said
annexed
territory, shall be set for the 17th day of June,
1975, at
6:30 p.m., or
as soon therafter as practicable.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all hearings made reference to herein
shall take place at the City Hall at 77 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa, Cali-
fornia.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution, when passed,
be submitted to the governing board of each school district, which in
part or whole is included in the territory thought to be included in the
City, providing said school governing board has made a written request
therefor.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be made a
part of the permanent records of the City of Costa Mesa.

Council of the City of Costa Mesa hereby certify that the above and
foregoing Resolution No. 75-45 was duly and regularly passed and adopted
by the said City Council at a regular meeting thereof, held on the 6th
day of May, 1975.

CANYON NO. 3 ANNEXATION
TO THE CITY OF COSTA MESA
Beginning at an angle point in the existing boundary of the City of
Costa Mesa as created by the "Victoria No. 2 Annexation" to the City of
Costa Mesa, Resolution No. 73-88, said angle point being the most
northerly corner thereof; thence along the existing boundary of the City
of Costa Mesa as created by the "Victoria No. 2 Annexation", the "Vic-
toria Street Annexation" (Ordinance No. 65-34), and the "Williams
Annexation" (Resolution No. 70-63), through its various courses in a
general southeasterly, southerly, easterly, northerly, and southeasterly
direction to the northeast corner of said "Williams Annexation", said
point lying on the centerline of Canyon Drive, as shown on a map of
Tract No. 653, per map thereof recorded in Book 19, Page 42 of Mis-
cellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, California, said point on the
centerline being on a curve concave southeasterly having a radius of
797.44 feet, a radial line through said point bears south 80002100"
east; thence departing from the existing boundary of the City of Costa
Mesa, and northerly along the centerline of said Canyon Drive through a
central angle of 09°05'50" an arc distance of 126.61 feet to the point
of intersection with the southeasterly prolongation of the northerly
line of Lot 90 of said Tract No. 653; thence along said lot line, north
70°56'10" west a distance of 407.00 feet to the northerly corner of said
Lot 90; thence south 46°53'27" west along the northwesterly line of said
Lot 90 a distance of 238.38 feet to a point on the existing boundary of
the City of Costa Mesa and the POINT OF BEGINNING.
Containing 2.60 acres, more or less.
