A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE VACATION
OF A PORTION OF HARLA AVENUE AND A PORTION OF
MESA VERDE DRIVE EAST.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa did, on the
3rd day of December, 1974, pass and adopt Resolution No. 74-110 entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA,
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE VACATION OF A PORTION OF HARLA
AVENUE (FORMERLY ORANGE STREET) AND A PORTION OF MESA VERDE DRIVE EAST;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said Resolution of Intention the time and
place for hearing all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed
vacation was set for Tuesday, the 7th day of January, 1975, at the hour
of 6:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 77 Fair Drive,
Costa Mesa, California; and
WHEREAS, notices of said proposed vacation were duly and regularly
posted as required by law, all pursuant to the provisions of Section
8300 et seq. of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California;
and
WHEREAS, said date of hearing coming on regularly to be heard, all
persons were given the opportunity to appear and be heard on the pro-
posed vacation, and said hearing was closed on the 7th day of January,
1975; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa finds and
determines, from all the evidence submitted, that the hereinafter
described right-of-way is unnecessary for present or prospective street
purposes;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES
ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the hereinafter described right-of-way as shown on
a map and legal description designated as Exhibit "A" and made a
part hereof is unnecessary for present or prospective street
purposes.
2. It is hereby ordered that the right-of-way described in
said Exhibit "A" be, and the same is hereby vacated.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of January, 1975.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION FOR ABANDONMENT OF
A PORTION OF HARLA AVENUE (FORMERLY ORANGE STREET)
AND A PORTION OF MESA VERDE DRIVE EAST
That portion of Mesa Verde Drive East conveyed to the City of Costa Mesa
by deed recorded January 6, 1966, in Book 7800, Page 75, Official Records
of Orange County and those portions of Harla Avenue, formerly Orange
Street, shown on a Record of Survey filed in Book 42, Page 2 of Records
of Surveys in the Office of the County Recorder of said Orange County,
in the City of Costa Mesa, County of Orange, State of California included
within the following described parcels of land:
PARCEL l:
That portion of said Orange Street described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of Orange Street
60.00 feet in width as shown on said Record of Survey Map with the
Southerly line of the Fairview Tract as per map recorded in Book
25, Page 76 of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, Cali-
fornia, said intersection also being the beginning of a curve
concave Northeasterly having a radius of 43.00 feet; thence along
said curve through a central angle of 44°14'24" an are distance of
33.20 feet to a point on the Westerly line of said Orange Street a
radial to said point bears South 43°37'22" West; thence along said
Westerly line South 00°37'02" East 12.26 feet to said Southerly
line; thence along said Southerly line North 89°15'29" East 30.00
feet to the Point of Beginning.
Containing 0.003 acres
PARCEL 2:
That portion of said Mesa Verde Drive East, and that portion of said
Orange Street included within the following described land:
Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of said Orange
Street with the Southerly line of the Fairview Tract as per map
recorded in Book 25, Page 76 of Miscellaneous Records of Los
Angeles County, California; thence along said centerline North
00037'02" West 111.15 feet; thence at right angles South 89°22'58"
West 25.00 feet to a line parallel with and distant Westerly 25.00
feet from said centerline, said point also being the TRUE POINT OF
BEGINNING and the beginning of a curve tangent to said parallel
line and concave Westerly having a radius of 95.00 feet; thence
Southerly along said curve through a central angle of 18°40'17" an
arc distance of 30.96 feet to a point on the Westerly line of said
Orange Street, a radial to said point bears South 71°56'45" East;
thence along said Westerly line North 00°37'02" West 476.02 feet to
the Southerly terminus of that certain curve concave Southwesterly
having a radius of 15.00 feet in the Southerly line of said Mesa
Verde Drive East as described in said deed recorded in Book 7800,
Page 75 of Official Records; thence along said Southerly line and
the arc of said curve Northerly, Northwesterly and Westerly through
a central angle of 90°07'29" an are distance of 23.59 feet to that
certain course in said Southerly line described in said deed as
"South 89°59'20" West 369.51 feet"; thence along the Easterly
prolongation of said course North 89°15'29" East 5.00 feet to a
tangent curve concave Southwesterly having a radius of 15.00 feet;
thence Easterly, Southeasterly and Southerly along said curve
through a central angle of 90°07'29" an arc distance of 23.59 feet
to a line parallel with and distant Westerly 25.00 feet from the
centerline of said Orange Street; thence along said parallel line
South 00'37'02" East 445.61 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING.
Containing 0.055 acres
Reserving unto the City of Costa Mesa an easement for Public Utility
purposes over, under, across, and through the most Easterly 3.00 feet of
Parcel 2, hereinabove described.
