A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NUM-
BERS 73-144 AND 75-24 CONCERNING THE TIME FOR
INITIATING AMENDMENTS TO THE MANDATORY ELEMENTS
OF THE GENERAL PLAN.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
THAT, WHEREAS, the Costa Mesa Planning Commission heretofore
recommended the establishment of procedures, criteria, and time limi-
tations for processing amendments to Costa Mesa's General Plan by its
Resolution 73-19, which recommendations were accepted and passed by the
City Council of the City of Costa Mesa by its Resolution 73-144; and
WHEREAS, the Costa Mesa Planning Commission heretofore recommended
additional procedures and time limits for processing mandatory elements
of Costa Mesa's General Plan by its Resolution 75-03, which recommenda-
tions were accepted and passed by the City Council of the City of Costa
Mesa by its Resolution 75-24; and
WHEREAS, the Costa Mesa Planning Commission finds that the dates
set forth in said prior Resolutions are presently concerned with the
time that the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does review same,
which procedure creates time problems for processing same through the
Planning Department staff and the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, the instant Resolution is intended to avoid and eliminate
said time problems by amending the prior procedures to set forth the
dates and time limits in initiating any such amendments to the mandatory
elements of the General Plan, fixing the dates when same are to be
initially submitted to the Costa Mesa Planning Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Costa Mesa approves and adopts Resolution 75-11 of the Costa Mesa Plan-
ning Commission, initiating the following amendments:
1. That the review schedule of all mandatory elements of the
Costa Mesa General Plan, as set forth in the Costa Mesa
Planning Commission's Resolution 75-03, and the Costa Mesa
City Council's Resolution 75-24, shall be herewith amended to
fix the "review date" as set forth therein to be the last date
upon which any such proposed amendments to the Costa Mesa
General Plan shall be initially submitted to the Costa Mesa
Planning Commission and, in effect, require same to be sub-
mitted no later than the first regular meeting of the Costa
Mesa Planning Commission of February, June, or October of each
year, pursuant to said schedule.
2. That, except as modified herein, the Costa Mesa Planning
Commission Resolutions 73-19 and 75-03, and Costa Mesa City
Council Resolutions 73-144 and 75-24, respectively, shall
remain in full force and effect.
