RESOLUTION NO. 76-25
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, EXPRESSING DEEP REGRET
AND SYMPATHY TO POLICE OFFICER AND MRS. ROSCOE L.
BROAD ON THE LOSS OF THEIR SON, PAUL BROAD.
WHEREAS, on the 17th day of February, 1976, death brought to a
close the young life of Paul Kanai Broad, the beloved son of Costa Mesa
Police Officer Roscoe Broad and his wife, Lorraine; and
WHEREAS, Paul, aged 18 years, had just begun working for the City
of Costa Mesa in the Traffic Engineering Department, having graduated
from Mater Dei High School in 1975; and
WHEREAS, Paul had earned the Ad Altars Dei Award for service to
his religious faith and had achieved the honor of Eagle Scout;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Costa Mesa, as individuals and as the elected representatives of the
people of the City, deep sorrow is expressed and heartfelt sympathy is
hereby extended to Roscoe and Lorraine Broad on the loss of their only
son, Paul; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a duly executed copy of this Resolution
be transmitted to the family of Paul Broad, and that it be entered in
the permanent records of the City of Costa Mesa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of February, 1976.
