HomeMy WebLinkAbout75-146 - Urging Renewal of Federal Revenue Sharing Programs1-12 RESOLUTION NO. 75-146 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, URGING A RENEWAL OF GEN- ERAL REVENUE SHARING PROGRAMS, AND REAFFIRMING THE CITY OF COSTA MESA'S INTENTION TO CONFORM WITH AND COMPLY WITH FEDERALLY -MANDATED GUIDELINES. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: THAT, WHEREAS, Federal Revenue Sharing plans will terminate in December, 1976; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa firmly believes in the policy and philosophy of revenue sharing; and WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa has put its revenue sharing funds to uses within the boundaries as established by the guidelines governing the expenditure of revenue sharing funds; and WHEREAS, said expenditures include but are not necessarily limited to major capital improvements, including storm drains, street lighting, and a fire station, and have included the development of a paramedics program and social benefits for the community such as RSVP and Operation Feedback; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa desires to urge the Congress of the United States to renew Revenue Sharing Programs; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: THAT, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby urge the National Congress to renew Federal Revenue Sharing Programs at the end of the current program in December of 1976; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa approves the guidelines as are currently established and is willing to work within said guidelines in the expenditure of revenue sharing funds; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to members of Congress, both Senate and House of Representatives repre- senting the City of Costa Mesa; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to each incorporated city within the County of Orange; BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the original of this Resolution be made a part of the permanent records of the City of Costa Mesa.
