RESOLUTION NO. 76-5
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION
TO ORDER THE VACATION OF AN EXCESS ALLEY RIGHT-
OF-WAY IN A PORTION OF LOT 88, NEWPORT HEIGHTS
TRACT, LOCATED IN THE GENERAL AREA OF SEVEN-
LTEENTH STREET AND IRVINE AVENUE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby
declare its intention to vacate an alley described as follows:
A portion of the southwesterly 20.00 feet of Lot 88 of
Newport Heights, as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 4,
Page 83 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County,
California, described as follows:
BEGINNING at the most westerly corner of the north-
westerly 132 feet of the southeasterly 258 feet of
said Lot 88, said corner lying on the northwesterly
line of that certain easement conveyed to the City
of Costa Mesa, recorded March 19, 1959, in Book 4634,
Page 68 of Official Records of Orange County; thence
northeasterly along the northwesterly line of said
northwesterly 132 feet a distance of 20.00 feet to
the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING; thence southeasterly
along the northeasterly line of said easement a
distance of 132 feet to a point on the northwesterly
line of the southeasterly 126 feet of said Lot 88;
thence southwesterly along said northwesterly line
7.50 feet; thence northwesterly a distance of 132.21
feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 2. Monday, the 2nd day of February, 1976, at the hour of
6:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 77 Fair Drive, Costa
Mesa, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place for hearing all
persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation.
SECTION 3. These proceedings shall be conducted pursuant to the
provisions of Section 8300 et seq. of the Streets and Highways Code of
the State of California.
SECTION 4. The City Manager of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby
directed to cause notices of the said proposed vacation to be conspicu-
ously posted along said strips of land for at least ten (10) days before
the date of said hearing. Said notices shall be posted not more than
three hundred (300) feet apart, but in no event shall less than three
(3) notices be posted.
SECTION 5. This Resolution shall be published once in the Orange
Coast Daily Pilot, a newspaper of general circulation printed and pub-
lished in the City of Costa Mesa, Orange County, California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of January, 1976.
