A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION
TO ORDER THE VACATION OF EXCESS RIGHT-OF-WAY IN
A PORTION OF LOT 81 OF NEWPORT HEIGHTS, LOCATED
IN THE GENERAL AREA OF SEVENTEENTH STREET AT
SUPERIOR AVENUE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby
declare its intention to vacate excess right-of-way described as follows:
That portion of Lot 81 of Newport Heights, in the City
of Costa Mesa, Orange County, California, per map
recorded in Book 4, Page 83, of Miscellaneous Maps,
records of said Orange County, described as follows:
BEGINNING at the intersection of the southeasterly
right-of-way line of Superior Avenue, formerly known
as Newport Avenue, 60.00 feet wide, with the south-
westerly right-of-way line of 17th Street, 60.00 feet
wide; thence south 50° 15' 16" east along the south-
westerly right-of-way line of said 17th Street, 22.65
feet to a point in a nontangent curve concave easterly
and having a radius of 1,958.69 feet, a radial line to
said point bears north 74° 31' 15" west, said curve
being the westerly right-of-way line of Newport Boule-
vard, as shown on a California State Division of
Highways Right -of -Way Map F-1612; thence southerly
along said curve 1.36 feet through a central angle of
0° 01' 49" to a point of intersection with a nontangent
curve concave southerly and having a radius of 34.50
feet, a radial line to said point bears north
36° 41' 33" east; thence westerly along said curve 26.13
feet through a central angle of 43° 23' 59" to a point
in the southeasterly right-of-way line of said Superior
Avenue, a radial line to said point bears north
6° 42' 26" west; thence north 39° 43' 53" east along
said right-of-way line 11.93 feet to the Point of
Beginning.
RESERVING therefrom an easement for all existing under-
ground and overhead public utilities together with the
right of ingress and egress for the purpose of main-
taining, replacing, and upgrading said existing public
utilities.
SECTION 2. Monday, the 19th day of July, 1976, at the hour of
6:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 77 Fair Drive, Costa
Mesa, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place for hearing all
persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation.
SECTION 3. These proceedings shall be conducted pursuant to the
provisions of Section 8300 et seq. of the Streets and Highways Code of
the State of California.
SECTION 4. The City Manager of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby
directed to cause notices of the said proposed vacation to be conspicu-
ously posted along said strips of land for at least ten (10) days before
the date of said hearing. Said notices shall be posted not more than
three hundred (300) feet apart, but in no event shall less than three
(3) notices be posted.
SECTION 5. This Resolution shall be published once in the Orange
Coast Daily Pilot, a newspaper of general circulation printed and pub-
lished in the City of Costa Mesa, Orange County, California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of June, 1976.
