A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING PORTIONS
OF GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT GP -75-3A, AMENDING
GENERAL PLAN 1990, BEING A MASTER PLAN FOR
THE CITY OF COSTA MESA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS

FOLLOWS:

THAT, WHEREAS, a plan of zoning for the City of Costa Mesa, known
as General Plan 1990, as amended, was adopted by the City Council of the
City of Costa Mesa by Resolution No. 71-27 on April 5, 1971; and
WHEREAS, General Plan Amendment GP -75-3A concerns numerous parcels
of land as set forth in those certain documents entitled "Westside
Community Plan, General Plan Review, Park District One", dated October,
1975, and "Westside Community Plan Recommendations, Land Use Element",
dated February, 1976, incorporated herein by reference, treating such
parcels in groupings or areas for individualized review and action; and
WHEREAS, the Costa Mesa Planning Commission has held public
hearings on same and made its recommendations to the City Council by
Resolution No. PC -76-04, referring to such groupings or areas as set
forth in said "Westside Community Plan Recommendations, Land Use Ele-
ment", dated February, 1976; and
WHEREAS, public hearings were held before this Council on June 21,
1976, in accordance with Section 65355 of the California Government
Code, all persons having been given the opportunity to be heard, both
for and against said Amendment CP -75-3A; and
WHEREAS, this Council has acted on portions of the whole of said
amendment as proposed, and deferred action on other portions thereof,
and deems it to be in the best interests of the public health, safety,
and welfare that certain portions of said GP -75-3A be adopted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Costa Mesa that General Plan 1990 be and is hereby amended by the
adoption of portions of General Plan Amendment GP -75-3A, to wit, those
areas, designated as Area 1 through Area 4, inclusive of "ISSUE S-3"
(concerning the 19th Street Commercial District), as follows:
AREA 1. Resolved that said land area's General Plan designation
of Commercial Center be amended to High Density Resi-
dential.
AREA 2. Resolved that said land area's General Plan designation
of General Commercial be amended to High Density Resi-
dential.
AREA 3. Resolved that said land area's General Plan designation
of Commercial be amended to High Density Residential
except for those certain three parcels (as recommended by
said Planning Commission Resolution No. PC -76-04) to
remain Commercial.
AREA 4. Resolved that said land area's General Plan designation
of Commercial be amended to High Density Residential.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that other areas and groupings as set forth
in said "Westside Community Plan Recommendations, Land Use Element" be
and are hereby deferred for further study and review all as set forth in
the respective motions thereon made at said City Council hearing of June
21, 1976.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21ot day of June, 1976.

adopted by the said City Council at a regular meeting thereof, held on
the 21st day of June, 1976.
