HomeMy WebLinkAbout76-101 - Temporary Closure of Westminster StreetRESOLUTION NO. 76-101 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, FINDING THAT THE PUBLIC SAFETY REQUIRES THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF WEST- MINSTER STREET BETWEEN SIXTEENTH STREET AND SIXTEENTH PLACE. WHEREAS, a temporary closure of Westminster Street between ■ Sixteenth Street and Sixteenth Place will prove beneficial by elimi- nating a safety hazard caused by small children playing in the unconstructed gravel portion of the street; and WHEREAS, the Traffic Commission of the City of Costa Mesa, at their regular meeting of July 28, 1976, after considering the desires and the safety of the citizens of the immediate area, have recommended that Westminster Street be temporarily closed until such time as the remainder of said street is dedicated and constructed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, finds and determines that the public safety, health, and welfare will be protected by the temporary closure of Westminster Street between Sixteenth Street and Sixteenth Place for a period of one year, or until the remainder of Westminster Street is dedicated and con- structed, whichever comes first, and by the adoption of this Resolution, it is so ordered.
