A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, COMMENDING THE
ESTANCIA HIGH SCHOOL EAGLE MARCHING BAND ON
BEING CHOSEN TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PASADENA
TOURNAMENT OF ROSES PARADE.
WHEREAS, the Estancia High School Eagle Marching Band, under the
competent direction of Mr. Peter Fournier since 1969, has become an
extraordinary award winning band; and
WHEREAS, two of the recent awards of the band include: first
place in the 1976 Chino Band Review, second place in Santa Monica's E1
Primero Band Review, the band being judged for its music, marching, and
showmanship; and
WHEREAS, the 106 -member Estancia High School Eagle Marching Band
is one of five Southern California bands chosen by the Pasadena Tourna-
ment of Roses Association Music Committee to participate in the Rose
Parade on January 1, 1977;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Costa Mesa that the Estancia High School Eagle Marching Band is hereby
recognized for its excellence of performance and is commended for
bringing honor and prestige to the City of Costa Mesa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of December, 1976.
