A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, COMMENDING CITY ATTORNEY
ROY E. JUNE UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT.
WHEREAS, on August 31, 1977, Roy E. June will retire from the
employ of the City as this City's second City Attorney since its in-
corporation in 1953; and
WHEREAS, Roy has participated in and been a part of the growth of
the City of Costa Mesa while it grew from 14.5 square miles in 1963 with
a population of 57,100 to its present 15.7 square miles with a popula-
tion of 77,500; and
WHEREAS, Roy E. June began his employment with the City of Costa
Mesa as Assistant City Attorney in July, 1963, and has been City
Attorney since his appointment in March, 1966; and
WHEREAS, Roy has faithfully performed the duties of City Attorney
and borne the responsibilities throughout his tenure of office; and
WHEREAS, this Council recognizes the value of the contribution
made by Roy to his City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Costa Mesa hereby commends Roy E. June for his service and expresses
appreciation upon this occasion of his retirement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Costa
Mesa is hereby directed to enter this Resolution in the permanent
records of the City and transmit an executed copy to Mr. June.
