WilsonRESOLUTION NO. 77-109 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, NAMING WILSON STREET PARK IN HONOR OF ROBERT M. WILSON. WHEREAS, Robert M. Wilson served on the Costa Mesa City Council for 16 years, having served as Mayor three times; and WHEREAS, from 1953 to 1960, Mr. Wilson served as a member of the Costa Mesa Planning Commission, serving as Chairman and 'Vice Chairman; and WHEREAS, in 1952, Robert Wilson served on the Home Rule Committee to incorporate the City of Costa Mesa; and WHEREAS, during his tenure on the Costa Mesa City Council, Mr. Wilson represented the City at the U. S. Conference of Mayors, served on the Board of Directors of the State California League of Cities, and was consistently active in the Orange County League of Cities; and WHEREAS, this City Council deems it both fitting and appropriate to recognize Robert M. Wilson for the part he played in the growth of Costa Mesa; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa that in honor of Robert M. Wilson, the park located at 360 West Wilson Street hereafter will be known as "Wilson Park". PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of September, 1977.
