HomeMy WebLinkAbout78-02 - Designating Members, County Solid Waste Management Enforcement AgencyRESOLUTION NO. 78-2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, DESIGNATING MEMBERS OF THE COUNTY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT ENFORCEMENT AGENCY. WHEREAS, the Z'Berg-Kapiloff Solid Waste Control Act of 1976 requires that there shall be designated within each county an Enforce- ment Agency to carry out the provisions of the act; and WHEREAS, the County Solid Waste Management Enforcement Agency possesses the required capabilities in environmental health and solid waste management to implement the Z'Berg-Kapiloff Solid Waste Control Act of 1976; and WHEREAS, it is the understanding of the Costa Mesa City Council that the County Solid Waste Management Enforcement Agency, upon approval of a majority of the cities containing a majority of the population of the incorporated area of the County and the State Solid Waste Management Board, will be designated as the Enforcement Agency for the County and all incorporated cities within the County; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa hereby approves the designation of the County Solid Waste Management Enforcement Agency comprised of representatives of: (a) Director of the General Services Agency, (b) Director of the Environmental Management Agency, (c) Director of the Human Services Agency, (d) Orange County Vector Control District, (e) Orange County Division of the League of California Cities, (f) Sanitary Districts, (g) Private Industry, as the Enforcement Agency for the County and all cities contained within the County, pursuant to subsection (a)(1) of Section 66796 of the Government Code.
