HomeMy WebLinkAbout78-45 - Commending Goldie TeWinkle, Woman of the YearRESOLUTION NO. 78-45 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, COMMENDING GOLDIE TE WINKLE ON BEING CHOSEN WOMAN OF THE YEAR IN RECOGNITION OF OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY SER- VICE. WHEREAS, the Man and Woman of the Year Awards Program was established in 1970 by the Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce to give recognition to outstanding residents of the community who have been involved in broad areas of civic service; and WHEREAS, Goldie TeWinkle is the wife of Costa Mesa's first Mayor, the late Charles TeWinkle; and WHEREAS, the influence of Goldie TeWinkle has been greatly evi- denced in this community since she and Mr. TeWinkle first came to this area in 1920 and opened a general store and post office; and WHEREAS, Mrs. TeWinkle has throughout the years contributed to the community by her interest and active participation in local activities; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa that Goldie TeWinkle is hereby recognized and commended for her tireless efforts and dedication to her community. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is instructed to enter this Resolution in the permanent records of the City of Costa Mesa and transmit an executed copy to Mrs. TeWinkle. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of April, 1978.
