HomeMy WebLinkAbout78-63 - Requesting Funds, County Safer Off-System Roads Program 1977-78RESOLUTION NO. 78-63 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE COUNTY ORANGE TO ALLOCATE SAFER OFF -SYSTEM ROADS PRO- GRAM FUNDS FOR THE 1977-78 FISCAL YEAR. WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa, by Resolution No. 78-61, dated June 19, 1978, has approved the Orange County Safer Off -System Roads and the method of distribution of funds; and WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa has identified the need for safety improvements for portions of certain eligible City Streets that are not on a Federal System; and WHEREAS, the County of Orange, by appropriate action, intends to allocate the Safer Off -System Roads Program funds to eligible agencies on a fiscal year basis for said safety improvements; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said City from the Safer Off -System Roads Program Funds the amount of $21,526.00, said amount to be matched by funds from said City based on the approximate ratio of 83 percent Safer Off -System Roads Program Funds to a minimum of 17 percent City funds for the construction of said safety improvements; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City's Director of Public Services/ City Engineer, Bruce D. Mattern, is hereby directed to submit this request to the Orange County Board of Supervisors through the County's Arterial Highway Financing Program Technical Staff; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City's Director of Public Services/ City Engineer, Bruce D. Mattern, is hereby directed to prepare and submit at the earliest opportunity the necessary field review forms to the California Department of Transportation, District 7, for their required review of the proposed projects; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of Public Services/City Engineer, Bruce D. Mattern, is hereby directed to prepare the necessary plans, specifications, and estimate of cost for the construction of said project and to submit those documents on or before September 15, 1979, to the California Department of Transportation, District 7, for their review and approval.
