A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, ACTING AS THE EX -OFFICIO
BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COSTA MESA PARK AND
RECREATION DISTRICT, DECLARING AND ORDERING
CERTAIN TERRITORY KNOWN AS BRISTOL -RED HILL
ANNEXATION ANNEXED TO THE COSTA MESA PARK AND
RECREATION DISTRICT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, ACTING AS THE EX -
OFFICIO BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COSTA MESA PARK AND RECREATION DIS-
TRICT, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of Orange County,
California, did on the 10th day of January, 1979, approve the annexation
of certain territory described as "Bristol -Red Hill Annexation to the
Costa Mesa Park and Recreation District", after application having been
made for said annexation pursuant to Section 56157, California Govern-
ment Code, and accompanied by written consent of one hundred percent
(100%) of the landowners within the territory;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY FOUND AND DETERMINED AS FOLLOWS:
(a) That the territory proposed to be annexed is uninhabited and
that no written protests have been filed and that the written
protests filed and not withdrawn represent less than ten
percent (10%) of the number of landowners in the territory
proposed to be annexed, owning not more than ten percent (10%)
of the assessed value of land therein.
(b) That the proposed annexation will be for the interest of the
landowners and the present and future inhabitants within the
territory proposed to be annexed.
(c) That the City Council has taken into consideration as a factor
in addition to the factors hereinabove set forth, the Local
Agency Formation Commission's approval of the proposed annex-
ation.
(d) That the territory to be annexed is contiguous to the existing
boundaries of the City of Costa Mesa and is not, nor is any
part thereof, included in any other city or similar purpose.
(e) That the Negative Declaration, issued by the Executive Officer
of the Local Agency Formation Commission, pursuant to the
California Environmental Quality Act of 1970, was reviewed and
considered by the Local Agency Formation Commission on January
10, 1979; and the Costa Mesa City Council adopted a Negative
Declaration for General Plan Amendment GP -78-2A on July 3,
1978.
The City Council has hereby ordered the annexation of Bristol -Red
Hill Annexation in accordance with Resolution 79-1 of the Local Agency
Formation Commission without notice and hearing and without an election,
pursuant to Section 56261 of the California Government Code.
That for taxing purposes, said Annexation is to be deemed an annex-
ation to the "Basic Area" of the City of Costa Mesa and the Orange
County Assessor is so notified.
That the exterior boundaries of the territory annexed are as set
forth in a map and legal description attached hereto, marked Exhibit
"A", and by this reference made a part hereof.

BRISTOL -RED HILL ANNEXATION
TO THE
COSTA MESA PARK AND RECREATION DISTRICT
All that certain land situated in the County of Orange, State of Cali-
fornia, more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at an angle point in the existing boundary line of the Costa
Mesa Park and Recreation District, said point being at the southeasterly
terminus of that line described as "north 49°22'03" west, 1,320.71 feet"
in the Red Hill Annexation No. 1 to the Costa Mesa Park and Recreation
District, said line also being the centerline of Bristol Street,
formerly Palisades Road; thence, leaving said boundary of the Costa Mesa
Park and Recreation District, southeasterly, along the prolongation of
said boundary, south 49°22'03" east, 89.89 feet to the intersection with
a line parallel with and 900.00 feet northwesterly, measured at right
angles, from the northwesterly line of Tract No. 706, as shown on a map
recorded in Book 21, Page 25 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Said
Orange County, California; thence south 40°37'57" west 319.65 feet,
along said parallel line to the easterly line of Tract 456, recorded in
Book 17, Page 9 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of said Orange County,
California; thence along the boundary line of said Tract No. 456 through
the following courses: north 49039'33" west, 229.88 feet; thence north
67°39'33" west 81.00 feet; thence north 82°39'33" west 145.15 feet;
thence north 51°59'33" west 183.60 feet; thence north 60°59'33" west
87.00 feet; thence north 71°59'33" west 77.00 feet; thence north
86°49'33" west 232.00 feet; thence north 40°02'58" west 464.61 feet to
the southwesterly prolongation of that certain course described as
"south 40°37'52" west 462.13 feet" in the boundary line of Country Club
No. 2 Annexation to the Costa Mesa Park and Recreation District, said
line also being the centerline of Santa Ana Avenue; thence northeast-
erly, along said prolongation north 40°37'03" east, 85.22 feet to said
southwesterly terminus of that certain course described as "south
40°37'52" west, 462.13 feet"; thence continuing north 40°37'03" east,
along said boundary line, 4.93 feet to the most westerly corner of that
certain land described in the deed to Walter R. Schmid and Margaret K.
Schmid, recorded March 22, 1965, in Book 7453, Page 681 of Official
Records of said Orange County; thence, leaving said last mentioned
boundary, south 39°42'58" east 152.16 feet, along the southwesterly line
of said Schmid land to the most southerly corner thereof; thence north
40°37'03" east 482.71 feet, along the southeasterly line of Schmid land
and the northeasterly prolongation thereof, to a point in the existing
boundary line of the Costa Mesa Park and Recreation District, per said
Red Hill Annexation No. 1, said point being within said line described
as "north 49°22'03" west, 1,320.71 feet"; thence southeasterly, along
said boundary line south 49°22'03" east, 1,170.71 feet to the POINT OF
BEGINNING.
The above parcel of land contains 13.67 acres.
This description and map of proposed
annexation DOES meet the approval of
the Surveyor's Office.
