HomeMy WebLinkAbout78-110 - Initiating Annexation Proceedings for Tustin-Woodland Annexation to Park and Recreation DistrictRESOLUTION NO. 78-110 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, INITIATING ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS FOR CERTAIN INHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS THE "TUSTIN-WOODLAND ANNEXATION TO THE COSTA MESA PARK AND RECREATION DISTRICT". WHEREAS, a petition for the proposed annexation designated as the "Tustin -Woodland Annexation to the Costa Mesa Park and Recreation Dis- trict" was filed by Dean L. Stubblefield and accepted for filing by the Executive Officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission; and WHEREAS, the area affected by the proposed annexation consists of 2.605 acres of inhabited territory located northwest of Tustin Avenue and 20th Street, more particularly described in the attached legal description, Exhibit "A", made a part of this Resolution by this refer- ence; and WHEREAS, the reason for the proposed annexation as set forth in the proposal submitted to the Local Agency Formation Commission is to obtain the benefits of Costa Mesa municipal services; and WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission has adopted a resolution on October 25, 1978, assigning the designation of the "Tustin - Woodland Annexation to the Costa Mesa Park and Recreation District"; and WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission has designated the City of Costa Mesa as the conducting authority for the proceedings of said annexation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa initiates proceedings for the "Tustin -Woodland Annexation to the Costa Mesa Park and Recreation District" and will hold a public hearing on the proposed annexation at 6:30 p.m., January 2, 1979, in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 77 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa, California. Any owner of land within the affected territory, or any registered voter residing within the territory, may file a written protest against the annexation with the City Clerk prior to the conclusion of the above mentioned public hearing. Any election required to confirm the order for annexation shall be called, held, and conducted only within the territory ordered to be annexed. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of November, 1978. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the Seal of the City of Costa Mesa this 21st day of November, 1978. 0.1 City Clerk and ex -officio Clerk t e City Council of the City of Cos Mesa TUSTIN-WOODLAND ANNEXATION TO THE COSTA MESA PARK AND RECREATION DISTRICT All that certain territory situated in 176s, R1Ow in the County of Orange, State of California, more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at an angle point in the existing boundary of the Costa Mesa Park and Recreation District as established by Woodland No. 3 Annexa- tion to said District, said angle point being the northwesterly term- inus of that certain course described as "south 50° east, 102.00 feet" in said annexation; thence along said existing boundary per Woodland No. 3 Annexation, Withdrawal (Exception No. 1) adopted by the Orange County Board of Supervisors on December 20, 1961, Sewell Annexation, Corridor No. 1 Annexation, Woodland No. 1 Annexation, said Withdrawal, and said Woodland No. 3 Annexation in a general southeasterly, north- easterly, northwesterly, southwesterly, southeasterly, and northeast- erly direction to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
