HomeMy WebLinkAbout79-56 - Pacific Canyon Island/Sunset Bluffs Annexed to Parks & Recreation ProgramRESOLUTION NO. 79-56 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, ACTING AS THE EX -OFFICIO BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COSTA MESA PARK AND RECREATION DISTRICT, ORDERING THE TERRITORY DES- IGNATED AS "PACIFIC -CANYON ISLAND/SUNSET BLUFFS ANNEXATION" ANNEXED TO THE COSTA MESA PARK AND RECREATION DISTRICT. WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of Orange County did, on the 28th day of February, 1979, adopt Resolution 79-30 des- ignating the Costa Mesa Park and Recreation District as the conducting district of the inhabited territory designated as "Pacific -Canyon Island/Sunset Bluffs Annexation" to the Costa Mesa Park and Recreation District; and WHEREAS, public hearing has been duly held on May 7, 1979, in accordance with Section 56290 et seq. of the California Government Code; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, ACTING AS THE EX -OFFICIO BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COSTA MESA PARK AND RECRE- ATION DISTRICT, FINDS AND DETERMINES AS FOLLOWS: (a) That the territory to be annexed is inhabited and no written or oral protests have been received. (b) That the City of Costa Mesa, as the lead agency has deter- mined said annexation to be categorically exempt from the provisions and requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act of 1970. (c) That the exterior boundaries of said annexation are as set forth on a map and legal description attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A", and by this reference made a part hereof. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the territory designated as "Pacific - Canyon Island/Sunset Bluffs Annexation" is hereby ordered annexed to the Costa Mesa Park and Recreation District without an election, pursuant to California Government Code Section 56320. City Clerk and ex -officio Clerk ofAXe City Council of the City of Costa sa m x x w 0 0 m 0 c -i 0 z 0 PACIFIC -CANYON ISLAND/SUNSET BLUFFS ANNEXATION TO THE COSTA MESA PARK AND RECREATION DISTRICT All that certain territory situated in Tract No. 653 as shown on a map - recorded in Book 19, Page 42 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California, more particularly describes: as follows:- - Beginning at an angle point in the existing boundary of Annexation No. 62-2 to the Costa Mesa Parks and Recreation District as adcpted by City Council of Costa Mesa Resolution No. 62-35, said angle point being the Easterly terminus of that certain course described as "North 89028'00" East, 1,591.55 feet, more or less," in said annexation,said point also being the Northwest corner of said Tract No. 653; thence in a general Easterly, Southerly, Westerly and Northerly direction following the existing boundary of Costa Mesa Parks and Recreation District as described in Exclusion No. 3 of Withdrawal from Costa Mesa Parks and Recreation District by Resolution No. 6,-1313 of the Orange County Board of Supervisors, Canyon Drive No. 2 Annexation adopted by Resolution No. 73-123, Wilson Street No. 1 Annexation adopted by Resolution No. 77-2 , Exclusion No. 3 of Withdrawal from Costa Mesa Parks and Recreation District of said Resolution No. 61-1313, Williams Annexation adopted by ordinance No. 70-30 Canyon No. 3 Annexation adopted by Ordinance No. 75-36, Victoria No. 2 Annexation adopted by Resolution No. 73-89, Victoria Street Annexation adopted by Ordinance No. 65-84, River No. 4 Annexation adopted by Ordinance No. 62-146, Vista Annexation adopted by Resolution No. 75-82 to an angle point in said exist- ing boundary line, said angle point being the southwest corner of Lot 34 of said Tract No. 653; thence leaving said existing boundary line of Costa Mesa Parks and Recreation District and along the Northwesterly line of Lot 34 of said Tract No. 653 to and along said existing boundary line as created by said Annexation No. 62-2, Pacific Vista Annexation adopted by Resolution No. 77-154 to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
