A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, REGULATING PRIVATE
VEHICLE PARKING AT THE COSTA MESA MUNICIPAL
GOLF COURSE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
THAT, WHEREAS, certain fire -zone ("red curb") areas are necessary in
the parking area at the Costa Mesa Municipal Golf Course for use by emer-
gency vehicles, and certain parking spaces are also required for the serv-
ice needs and convenience of City employees; and
WHEREAS, a problem exists in that certain unauthorized persons are
parking in the fire -zone and employee spaces thereby interferring with
emergency vehicles and City employees in carrying out their emergency,
maintenance, and other duties and responsibilities; and
WHEREAS, the California Vehicle Code (Sections 22519 and 21113)
permits a City to regulate parking on municipally owned or controlled
parking facilities; and
WHEREAS, the public health, safety and welfare will be best served
by prohibiting the parking of private vehicles in parking areas designated
as fire -zone and employee parking only.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Costa Mesa hereby designates certain fire -zone areas and employee parking
only areas at the Costa Mesa Municipal Golf Course premises at which no
unauthorized persons shall stop, stand or park a vehicle. Those areas
designated as fire zone and employee parking only are shown on the attached
Exhibit "A" which is incorporated herein.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this regulation shall become effective
when the posting of signs and appropriate painting of curbs have taken
place in order to give notice of this restriction.
