RESOLUTION NO. 80-92
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE APPLICATION
FOR BICYCLE AND/OR PEDESTRIAN FUNDS AUTHORIZED
UNDER SB 821 AND APPROVING THE ADOPTION OF ITS
BICYCLE AND/OR PEDESTRIAN PLAN.
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 821 provides that two percent (2%) of each
County's total Local Transportation Fund be annually set aside and used
to fund the development of bicycle and pedestrian facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa has planned a bikeway system in
conformance with specifications of the California Highway Design Manual
and the Regional Transportation Plan; and
WHEREAS, The City of Costa Mesa desires to construct the master
bikeway system within their City utilizing the funding available under
Senate Bill 821.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does
resolve as follows:
1. To adopt the bikeway system in conformance with the specifica-
tions of the California Highway Design Manual and the Regional
Transportation Plan;
2. To authorize the Traffic Engineer as the City's authorized
signature and designated contact person;
3. To apply for all funds available to the City of Costa Mesa
allocated for bikeways and pedestrian facilities (Senate
Bill 821).
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of October, 1980.
