HomeMy WebLinkAbout80-103 - Private Street Named South Coast Plaza44 RESOLUTION NO. 80-103 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING A NAME FOR A PRIVATE STREET LOCATED WEST OF BRISTOL STREET AND EXTENDING WESTERLY FROM THE INTERSECTION OF BRISTOL STREET AND THE SOUTHBOUND 405 FREEWAY OFF -RAMP. WHEREAS, the State of California requires the construction of a sign bridge on the northbound 405 Freeway off -ramp approaching the Bristol Street intersection; WHEREAS, the policy of the State requires designation of lane destination by official names of street only; WHEREAS, a private roadway exists extending westerly from the intersection into a large shopping center; WHEREAS, the name of the large shopping center is South Coast Plaza; WHEREAS, no other street in the City of Costa Mesa bears the name South Coast Plaza; WHEREAS, this City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City that said private street be named South Coast Plaza; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa that the private roadway lying west of Bristol Street extend- ing from the intersection of Bristol Street and the northbound 405 Freeway off -ramp be named SOUTH COAST PLAZA: BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this Resolution be transmitted to CALTRANS, DISTRICT VII, Los Angeles, California.
