HomeMy WebLinkAbout82-70 - Supporting an Interconnected Traffic Signal System1.8(J RESOLUTION NO. 82-70 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF AN INTERCONNECTED TRAFFIC SIGNAL SYSTEM THROUGHOUT ALL CITIES IN THE COUNTY OF ORANGE. WHEREAS, it has been proven that interconnected traffic signal systems effectively provide an orderly assignment of right-of-way to various vehicular traffic movements; and WHEREAS, an effective progressive traffic movement can reduce the frequency of certain types of traffic accidents and provide public safety; and WHEREAS, the Master Plan of Arterial Highways for the County of Orange establishes a continuity of the highway system throughout the County; and WHEREAS, the interconnecting of the traffic signal systems with the adjacent cities within the County of Orange will assure the integrated movement of vehicular traffic along contiguous master planned highways. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby determine and find that it supports the establishment of a county -wide integrated traffic signal system.
