HomeMy WebLinkAbout83-104 - Supporting Implementation of Carrier Alert Program224 RESOLUTION NO. 83-104 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, IN SUPPORT OF THE IMPLEMENTATICN OF THE CARRIER ALERT PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the Orange County Area Agency on Aging and the National Association of Letter Carriers co-sponsor and support the Carrier Alert Program in Orange County; and WHEREAS, this program serves as an alert mechanism to help handi- capped and elderly individuals living alone, who may suffer an illness or accident in the home and cannot cammunicate their need for help; and WHEREAS, the program is designed so that when a letter carrier notices that something is amiss or unusual at a have along his mail delivery route, he will begin a chain of actions designed to help those citizens who are registered and desiring such help; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa that this City Council hereby goes on record in support of the implementation of this very worthwhile Carrier Alert Program.
