RESOLUTION NO. 84-16
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COST, MESA, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING AN ESTIMATE
OF ASSESSED VALUATION OF PROPERTY FOR THE 1984-
1985 FISCAL YEAR FROM THE ORANGE COUNTY ASSESSOR,
AND SETTING FORTH THE REASONS THEREFOR.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
THAT, WHEREAS, an estimate of the assessed valuation of property
subject to taxation by the City of Costa Mesa is required for timely
and orderly preparation of the annual budget of this local taxing
jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, the County Assessor of the County of Orange is required
by law to perform the duty of assessing property for this local taxing
jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, the Government Code of the State of California, Section
27421, directs the County Assessor to furnish not later than May 15th,
an estimate of the assessed valuation of property within a local taxing
jurisdiction for the succeeding fiscal year when requested by the
governing body of such jurisdiction on or before February 20th;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Costa Mesa, as the governing body of the City of Costa Mesa, a local
taxing jurisdiction, does hereby request that the County Assessor of
the County of Orange furnish to this Council, not later than May 15th,
an estimate of the assessed valuation of property within the City of
Costa Mesa for the 1984-1985 Fiscal Year.
