HomeMy WebLinkAbout84-66 - Parking Prohibition, Avocado Street, Street SweepingI., RESOLUTION NO. 84-66 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, PROHIBITING PARKING ON WEDNESDAYS BETWEEN 8:00 A.M. AND 10:00 A.M. ON A PORTION OF AVOCADO STREET FOR THE PURPOSE OF STREET SWEEPING. WHEREAS, the Traffic Commission of the City of Costa Mesa has recan- mended to this City Council that parking be prohibited on Wednesdays, between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. along both curbs of Avocado Street for its length between Fairview Road and College Avenue, for the purpose of street sweeping; and WHEREAS, this Council does desire to maintain parking at frontages for property with cannercial uses along the southerly curb, beginning at Fairview Road 190 feet westerly; and WHEREAS, Section 10-213 of the Municipal Code of the City of Costa Mesa provides for the designation of no -parking areas by Resolution of the City Council, and Sections 10-69(b) and 10-82 of the Municipal Code of the City of Costa Mesa set forth provisions for enforcement and obedience to Code regulations; and WHEREAS, this Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City that parking prohibition be authorized as recommended by the Costa Mesa Traffic Cata ission; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa that parking be, and the same is hereby prohibited on Wednes- days, between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., along both curbs of Avocado Street for its length between Fairview Road and College Avenue, for the purpose of street sweeping, excepting along the southerly curb beginning at Fairview Road 190 feet westerly in front of the commercial properties.
