HomeMy WebLinkAbout84-37 - Proposed Fire 800 MHZ Trunked Radio SystemRESOLUTION NO. 84-37 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING IN CONCEPT, THE SHARED -COST FORMULA FOR THE PROPOSED FIRE 800 MHZ TRUNKED RADIO SYSTEM AS PROPOSED BY THE COUNTY OF ORANGE GENERAL SERVICES AGENCY. WHEREAS, the communications system as it presently exists in the County of Orange is about 200 percent over capacity; and WHEREAS, this overloading reduces the grade of communications which is manifested in long waiting times required to access the system; and WHEREAS, County and City routine and emergency fire operations demand more radio channels than are presently available; and WHEREAS, the Fire 800 MHZ Trunked Radio System is planned for imple- mentation over a five-year period; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby resolve as follows: 1. To participate with the County of Orange in the new fire radio system; 2. To approve in concept, the shared -cost formula based on Sphere of Influence and field equipment for the new fire radio system. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of March, 1984.
