HomeMy WebLinkAbout86-52 - Adopting GP-86-1ARESOLUTION NO. 86-52 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT GP -86-1A, AMENDING THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA. WHEREAS, the General Plan was adopted by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa by Resolution No. 81-67 on July 20, 1981; and WHEREAS, the General Plan is a long-range, canprehensive document which serves as a guide for the orderly development of Costa Mesa; and WHEREAS, by its very nature, the General Plan needs to be updated and refined to account for current arra future community needs; and WHEREAS, General Plan Amendment GP -86-1A, Option III, an application to change the Land Use designations of certain properties within the Study Area bordered by Baker Street, Fairview load, Corona del Mar (73) Freeway, and the Orange County Flood Control Channel, has been recommended for approval by the Planning Commission; and WHEREAS, public hearings were duly held by the Planning Commission on February 10, 1986, and by the City Council on May 19, 1986, in accordance with Section 65355 of the Government Code of the State of California, all persons having been given the opportunity to be heard, both for and against said Amendment GP -86-1A to the General Plan; and WHEREAS, this Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City that said Amendment to the General Plan be adopted; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa that the General Plan is hereby amended by the adoption of General Plan Amendment GP -86-1A, changing the land use designation of properties as follows: 1. Change frau Neighborhood Commercial to General Commercial: 2900 Fairview Iniad 2910 Fairview Road 1195 Baker Street 1179 Baker Street 1175 Baker Street 1155 Baker Street 1151 Baker Street (to a point 200 feet frau the centerline of Baker Street) 2. Change frau Medium Density Residential to General Commercial: 1145 Baker Street 1113 Baker Street 1097 Baker Street 1087-1095 Baker Street 1085 Baker Street 1077 Baker Street 3. Change frau Neighborhood Ommercial to Light Industry: 1151 Baker Street (excluding portion of lot that is within 200 feet from the centerline of Baker Street) 4. Change from Medium Density Residential to Light Industry: 1099 Baker Street 2991 Grace Lane 2950 Grace Lane 1107 Baker Street 2971 Grace Lane 2970 Grace Lane 1111 Baker Street 2951 Grace Lane 2990 Grace Lane 1117 Baker Street 2941 Grace Lane 1127 Baker Street 2931 Grace Lane 1135 Baker Street 2930 Grace Lane 1139 Baker Street 2940 Grace Lane 5. Change from Medium Density Residential to High Density Residential: 2901, 2917, 2925, 2937, 2947, 2959, 2965, 2977, 2985, 2999 Mendoza Dr ive 6. Change from Medium Density Residential to Low Density Residential: 2960 Mendoza Drive 1021 and 1015 Baker Street Said properties are further described in Exhibit A. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that based upon the findings of the Initial Study prepared in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act, a Negative Declaration of Environmental Impact has been prepared for said Amendment and is hereby adopted.
