HomeMy WebLinkAbout86-100 - Requesting Freeway Connectors for Routes 55 and 73RESOLUTION NO. 86-100 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING CONSTRUCTION OF FREEWAY CONNECTORS FOR THE SOUTHERLY LEGS OF ROUTES 55 AND 73. WHEREAS, interchange plans for the Route 55 and 73 freeways anticipate connectors to and from the southerly legs; and WHEREAS, earthen fill and embankment are in place to accommodate these connectors; and WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa is participating in the Joint Powers Agreement for the San Joaquin Hills Transportation Corridor construction; and WHEREAS, the Route 55-73 connectors are necessary for access to the proposed San Joaquin Hills facilities; and WHEREAS, funding is required for preliminary engineering, environ- mental study, and construction to carry forward the construction of the connectors; and WHEREAS, funds are provided in the Orange County Unified Transporta- tion Trust (OCUTT) for state highway and freeway projects; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa that request is hereby made to the Orange County Transportation Commission to provide funding for design plans, environmental documents, project administration, and construction.
