RESOLUTION NO. 87-26
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, DESIGNATING A PORTION
OF PRESIDIO SQUARE AS A PUBLIC STREET FOR ALL
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa finds and deter-
mines that it is in the best interest of the public that the City designate
and fix the location for a certain public street over a certain portion of
Presidio Square; and
WHEREAS, that portion of Presidio Square is presently owned by the
City of Costa Mesa and is currently used, or proposed to be used, as a
public street; and
WHEREAS, the legal description for the area to be designated as said
public street and a map showing the same is contained in Exhibit "A" which
is attached hereto and incorporated herein;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY
ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1. The said property is hereby designated as a public street for all
purposes.
2. The City Engineer is directed to make the necessary changes on
all City documents to show this area as a public street and to
notify all other pertinent governmental agencies of such changes.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION
That portion of Lots 11 and 12 of the Berry Rancho Tract as it is
shown on a map recorded in Book 9 Page 7 of Miscellaneous Records
in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County,
California, more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the Southwest corner of Tract No. 4784 as it is shown
on a map recorded in Book 179 Page 29-32 inclusive, of
Miscellaneous Maps, Records of the County Recorder of Orange
County, California; thence along the South line of said tract East
349.76 feet to a point on the West line of Cabot Avenue(60.00 feet
wide) said point being the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING; thence East
along the South lines of Tracts 4784, 4808 and 4285 as they are
shown in Miscellaneous Map Book 179 Pages 29-32, Book 172 Pages
47-50 and Book 149 Pages 29-32 respectively, Records of the County
Recorder of Orange County, a distance of 986.00 feet to a point on
the East line of Carlos Avenue(60.00 feet wide) as it is shown on
said Tract No. 4285; thence along the Southerly prolongation of
the East line of Carlos Avenue South 17.00 feet to the beginning
of a tangent curve concave Northwesterly and having a radius of
60.00 feet; thence along said curve Southerly, Southwesterly and
Westerly through a central angle of 90°00'00" an arc distance of
94.25 feet to a point of tangency with a line parallel to and
77.00 feet Southerly, measured at right angles, to the South lines
of said Tracts 4285 and 4808; thence along said parallel line West
655.00 feet; thence North 47°51'45" West 28.32 feet to a point on
a line parallel to and 58.00 feet Southerly, measured at right
angles, to the South lines of said Tracts 4808 and 4784; thence
along last said parallel line West 210.00 feet to the beginning of
a tangent curve concave Northeasterly and having a radius of 40.00
feet; thence Westerly, Northwesterly and Northerly along said
curve through a central angle of 90°00'00" an arc distance of
62.83 feet to a point on the Southerly prolongation of the West
line of said Cabot Avenue; thence along said Southerly
prolongation North 18.00 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING.
EXCEPTING therefrom everything lying Westerly of the following
described line:
BEGINNING at a point in the south line of said Lot 11 of said
Berry Tract, said point being 1533 feet east of the center line of
Santa Ana Road as said Santa Ana Road is shown on a map attached
to a lease to the United States of America, recorded September 27,
1941 in Book 1107, Page 536 of official records, said point being
also the southeasterly corner of the land described in deed to the
Newport Union High School District, recorded August 9, 1956 in
Book 3605, Page 234 of official records; thence east, along the
south line of said Lot 11, 937.50 feet to the TRUE POINT OF
BEGINNING; thence north 00 21130" east along a line parallel with
the easterly line of the said land of Newport Harbor Union High
School District, 929.28 feet to the south line of said Tract No.
4808.
