A RESOLUTION CF THE CITY CDUNCIL CF THE CITY OF
ODSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE APPLICATION
FOR BICYCLE ANQ/OR PEDESTRIAN FUNDS AUTHORIZED
UNEER SENATE BILL 821 AND APPROVING THE ADOPTION
OF ITS BICYCLE PND/OR PEDESTRIAN PLAN.
WiEREAS, Senate Bill 821 provides that two percent (2%) of each
county's total Local Transportation Fund be annually set aside and used to
fund the development of bicycle and pedestrian facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa has planned a bikeway system in con-
formance with specifications of the California Highway Design Manual and
the Regional Transportation Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa desires to construct the master bike-
way system within the City utilizing the funding available under Senate
Bill 821;
NCW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby
resolve as follows:
1. Tb adopt the bikeway system in conformance with the specifica-
tions of the California Highway Design Manual and the Regional
Transportation Plan;
2. To authorize the Transportation Services Engineer as the City's
authorized signature and designated contact person;
3. To apply for all funds available to the City of Costa Mesa allo-
cated for bikeways and pedestrian facilities (Senate Bill 821).
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of August, 1987.
