THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETER- MINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The following Basic Pay Schedule for Rnployees of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby adopted, effective July 3, 1988; rates established in the Basic Pay Schedule are expressed in dollars per month. The following are the rates of pay specified for special assignment, bilingual, and shift differential pay. Paramedic Assignment --applicable only to Fire Department personnel when assigned to the Mobil Intensive Care Division: 10% above the monthly pay step of Firefighter when first assigned 11.25% above the monthly pay step of Firefighter after first recertification in Orange County 12.50% above the monthly pay step of Firefighter after second recertification in Orange County 13.75% above the monthly pay step of Firefighter after third recertification in Orange County Motorcycle Assignment --applicable only to employees in the classifica- tions of Police Officer, Senior Police Officer, and Police Sergeant when so assigned to motorcycle duty: 5% over assigned rate per shift. Uniform Assignment—applicable only to employees in the classifica- tions of Senior Police Officer, Police Sergeant, and Police Lieutenant when permanently assigned to perform a uniform patrol assignment in the Uniform Division of the Police Department: 2.5% over assigned rate. Police Officers currently receiving uniform assignment pay are eligible to continue to receive this ccmpensation until reassigned. FTO Assignment—applicable only to Police Department employees desig- nated as Field Training Officers when they actually perform those duties: 5% over assigned rate. Bilingual Pay—applicable to employees in the job classifications determined by the City Manager and when so assigned to use their bilingual abilities: 5% over assigned rate. Night Shift Differential --applicable only to Police Department clerical classifications: 3.5% over assigned rate per shift.
