HomeMy WebLinkAbout88-80 - Intention to Vacate area bordered by Harobr, Newport, W. 19th StreetRESOLUTION NO. 88-80 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE VACATION OF PUBLIC STREETS IN THE AREA BORDERED BY HARBOR BOULEVARD, NEWPORT BOULEVARD, AND WEST 19111 STREET. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby declare its intention to vacate streets in the area bordered by Harbor Boulevard, Newport Boulevard, and West 19th Street, as shown on a map attached and made a part hereof, identified as Exhibit "A', and more particularly described as follows: PANEL 1: The Easterly 10 feet of Tats 1,2,3,4,5,and 6 of Tract No. 428, as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 17, Page 23 of Miscel- laneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California; and the Westerly 10 feet of the Easterly 35.02 feet of Lot 20, Block A, of Tract No. 18, as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 9, Page 20 of Miscel- laneous Maps, Records of said Orange County. PARCEL 2: That certain Alley, 20 feet in width, of Block A, Tract No. 18, as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 9, Page 20 of Miscel- laneous Maps, Records of said Orange County, California, the North- westerly arra Southeasterly lines of said Alley run parallel with the Northwesterly line of Newport Avenue, and lie within the Easterly line of Fairview Avenue (now Harbor Boulevard) and the Southerly line of 19th Street. PARCEL 3: That portion of State road VII-0ra7-43-CMsa (Newport Avenue) relinquished to the City of Costa Mesa by the State of California, as described in Parcel 2 of a document thereof recorded in Book 2670, Pages 28 and 29, Official Records of said Orange County, California. Excepting therefrom all that road lying Southwesterly of Harbor Boulevard and Northeasterly of 19th Street. SECTION 2. Monday, the 20th day of October, 1988, at 6:30 p.m., in the Police Auditorium, 99 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place for hearing all persons interested in or objec- ting to the proposed vacation. SECTION 3. These proceedings shall be conducted pursuant to the provisions of Section 8300 et seq. of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California. SECTION 4. The City Manager of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby directed to cause notices of the said proposed vacation to be conspicuously posted along said strips of land for at least ten (10) days before the date of said hearing. Said notices shall be posted not more than three hundred (300) feet apart, but in no event shall less than three (3) notices be posted. SECTION 5. This Resolution shall be published once in the ORANGE COAST DAILY PILOT, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the City of Costa Mesa, Orange County, California. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of October, 1988.
