HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-61 - Designating Permit Parking on Ballow Lane between Mission Dr and El Camino DrRESOLUTION NO. 12-61 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, DESIGNATING PERMIT PARKING ON BALLOW LANE BETWEEN MISSION DRIVE AND EL CAMINO DRIVE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the Costa Mesa City Council has determined that parking is a limited resource on specific streets in City of Costa Mesa ("Costa Mesa'; and WHEREAS, Section 10-221 of the Costa Mesa Municipal Code provides for the designation of "resident only' parking areas by resolution of the City Council; and WHEREAS, Ballow Lane between Mission Drive and EI Camino Drive (the "Designated Street") is congested with off street parking by nonresidents; WHEREAS, the City Council finds that "resident only" parking is needed on the "Designated Street; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Transportation Services Division Manager should be authorized to extend and/or modify the limits of said prohibitions within a 1,000 foot radius of the above Designated Street to serve the best interests of the neighborhood without further City Council action; and WHEREAS, Section 10-82 of the Costa Mesa Municipal Code sets forth provisions for enforcement and obedience of Costa Mesa Municipal Code violations; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTS MESA that parking be, and at the same time is hereby prohibited on the Designated Street, at all times to vehicles without a resident permit except as provided under the Costa Mesa Municipal Code or other applicable law. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Transportation Services Division Manager is hereby authorized to extend and/or modify the limits of said parking prohibition within a 1,000 foot radius of the Designated Street to serve the best interests of the neighborhood. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that pursuant to Section 10-82 of the Costa Mesa Municipal Code, signs shall be posted to give warnings that vehicles parked in violation of the Costa Mesa Municipal Code shall be cited.
