HomeMy WebLinkAbout00-43 - Denying Development Review DR-00-12RESOLUTION NO. 00--/3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, DENYING DEVELOPMENT REVIEW DR -00-12. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, an application was filed by Joseph Cefalia, owner of real property at 215 and 219 East 16th Street, requesting planning staff approval of Development Review DR -00-12, to construct four (4) detached residential units within the R2 -MD zone; and WHEREAS, on April 6, 2000, planning staff approved Development Review DR -00-12 subject to conditions of approval; and WHEREAS, an appeal of the planning staff's approval of Development Review DR -00-12 was submitted by City Council Member Somers on April 12, 2000; and WHEREAS, on May 8, 2000, the Planning Commission held a duly noticed public hearing at which Development Review DR -00-12 was approved; and WHEREAS, an appeal of the Planning Commission's decision to approve Development Review DR -00-12 was submitted by City Council Member Somers on May 12, 2000; and WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held by the City Council on June 5, 2000; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that based on the evidence in the record and the findings contained in Exhibit "A", the City Council hereby denies Development Review DR -00-12 with respect to the property described above. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5" day of June, 2000. ATTEST: T. The project is not compatible with the neighborhood, it will generate excessive amounts of traffic, exceed acceptable parking levels for the site, and create a potential trash problem.
