SECTION 2. The City and CMPA membership agreed to convert to the new
CalPERS 3% @ 50 retirement formula in December, 2000. The additional cost of this
benefit will be solely borne by CMPA-represented employees. In conjunction with the
conversion, the City agrees to provide a one-time lump sum payment for CMPA-
represented classifications. This lump sum is the amount the employees would have
been awarded based upon the total compensation calculation absent the new
retirement benefit. The lump sum payments are as follows: Police Officer = $454,
Police Sergeant = $572, and Police Lieutenant = $672.
SECTION 3. New employees hired into the classification of Police Officer will
be required to serve an initial probationary period of 18 months of continuous service.
Rule 11, Section 2 of the City's Personnel Rules and Regulations will be amended to
reflect this change.
SECTION 4. All parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby rescinded.
