This letter is in regards to the outstanding building permits on file for my property
located at 3059 Tyler Way, Costa Mesa.
On January 5th, 2000 we experienced a house fire. Permits were issued to
authorize the reconstruction. Subsequent permits were also issued pertaining to an
addition that we elected to do at that time. Cal Western Insurance repair was the company
that was selected to complete the reconstruction. The whole process did not go well, and
in fact they abandoning the job. The legal battle that ensued has since been settled. They
dropped their suit and I dropped my countersuit. Just a bunch of money wasted on
lawyers. The lawsuit consumed the money that I had set aside to complete the addition
and I have been struggling to raise enough money to complete the bathroom that is part of
the addition. I believe that at this time we are able to get the permits that pertain to the
fire reconstruction signed off. I don't know at what point I need to be to get the addition
permits signed off. Hopefully the inspector that comes out can give us some information
in that respect. I am out of town until the 5th of January and will call for inspection within
one week of my return.
I would like to take the time, while I have your attention, to tell you that Gary
Hook was a great deal of help during a very difficult time for our family. We will always
be very appreciative of his assistance.
