Wilson Street Costa Mesa, California Dear Mr. C-De Baca: This letter will confirm our telephone conversation regarding the Permit that was pulled for inspection on the windows installed by Aero-Therm, Inc. (Edward Watkins) . It is my understanding that you require that I submit a letter requesting that this permit be revoked due to the fact that the permit was not pulled in good faith. I am requesting that the permit be revoked at this time. Please allow me to advise you of the facts underlying this matter. My husband and I retained Mr. Watkins firm to install windows at our home. After they were installed approximately May 1992, we noticed that they leaked profusely almost immediately. We advised Mr. Watkin's of this on several occasions and, ultimately, the window manufacturer came out twice. The manufacturer informed us that the problem was not with the windows themselves but rather the manner in which they were installed. After Mr. Watkin's firm failed to correct the problems with the installation, and after we had already paid $4, 100 . 00 of the $4,600. 00 Contract price, we advised Mr. Watkins that we COPY Tony C 'De Baca Assistant Development Services Director Building Official November 16, 1992 page two would not pay the remaining $519 . 00 on the Contract. Mr. Watkin's then chose to take us to Small Claims Court to collect the $519 . 00 remaining. We counter-claimed on the Small Claims action for faulty installation. The Court found in our favor and awarded us $1,713.00. Mr. Watkin's has appealed, and we are vigorously opposing his appeal. We believe that we can get the windows properly installed by another contractor for the $1, 713 .00 judgment. We are currently awaiting a hearing date from the Court on that matter. I do not appreciate Mr. Watkin's misrepresenting to you that he was our agent for purposes of obtaining a permit. I further do not appreciate his trespassing onto our property to nail the permit to my house. I hereby demand that the permit be immediately revoked as it was not pulled in good faith and was pulled without our authorization. In the meantime, we will determine what action we will initiate for Mr. Watkins actions . Thank you very much for your cooperation and understanding regarding the above situation.
