approved recognized standards, pariicleboard floor underlayment

when the floor joists, tloor trusses or roo[ trusses which they sup-
port are spaced at more than 16-inch (406 mm) intervals, such
jois[s or trusses shall bear within 5 inches (127 mm) of the studs
beneath or a[hird plate shall be installed.
Interior nonbearing particions may be capped wiih a single top
plate installed to provide overlxpping at corners and a[ inlersec-
[ions wi[h other walls and partitions. The plate shall be continu-
ously tied at joints by solid blocking at least 16 inches (406 mm) in
length and equal in size io the plate or by �/g-inch bp 1�/�-inch (3.2
mm by 3S mm) metal ties with spliced sections fastened with [wo
16d nails on exch side of the joint.
Studs shall have fuli bearing on a plate or sill not less than 2 in-
ches (51 mm) in thickness having a width not less than that of the
wall smds.
2320.11.3 Bracing. Bruced wall lines shall conslst of braced
wall panels which meet the requirements for Ioeation, type and
amoun[ of bracing specified in Table 23-IV-C-] and are in line or

wall panels shall start at not more than 8 feet (2435 mm) from each

45 degrees from the horizontal, and attached to the framing in con-
formance with Table 23-II-B-1.
2. Wood boards of 5/g-inch (16 mm) net minimum [hickness

3. Wood structural panel sheathing with a thickness not ]ess
[han 5/�6 inch (7.9 mm) for 16-inch (406 mm) swd spacing and not
