HomeMy WebLinkAbout89-138 - Increasing Police Services User Fees315 RESOLUTION NO. 89-138 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, INCREASING POLICE SERVICES USER FEES. WHEREAS, the City hired Vertex Cost Systems, Incorporated, a financial consultant, to conduct an assessment of cost recovery under current user fee schedules; and WHEREAS, consultant has determined that only 68 percent of costs are being recovered; and WHEREAS, this study was available for public inspection and review 14 days prior to this public hearing; and WHEREAS, the City Council has evaluated justification for an increase in current fees given economic and social factors as well as average fees charged by surrounding cities; and WHEREAS, the City and consultant have determined that fees set forth in this resolution would allow nearly, but not exceeding, 100 percent recovery; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Costa that the Police Services Fee Schedule contained in this resolution shall be instituted upon the effective date of Ordinance 89-12.
