Maurer 1102 Valley Circle Costa Mesa, California 92627 Dear Mr. Maurer: yesterday I received your letter in regard to water entering your house. As you know, I went to your house and water -proofed under the front door threshold. We did caulking at the southwest corner of the house which :should stop any seepage in that area. I had a roofer inspect your house for your satisfaction. He said that the roof is all in good condition with no chance of leaking. I also had other people look, as I did myself, very carefully all around your house especially the cast wall near the furnace room. That area looks perfect, and I don't see how a house could get water in that area. Please move your trash barrels away from the outside furnace vents. Water coming off the roof.. could hit the closed tops of the barrels and be splashing through the vents to the furnace area. You told me that the house did not get any water in it during the last rain. I suggest that we wait and see when it rains again. I sincerely hope that no water will get in your home. however, If it should, please call me immediately for me to see. Copies to: State Contractors' Board, Mr. Stanley Wallace.
