Dear Sir:
Your property at the above noted address has several abandoned
buildings in dilapidated condition which I find to be dangerous
buildings under the provisions of Section 302 of the Uniform
Code for the abatement of Dangerous Buildings, which has been
adopted by the Costa Mesa City Council as part of the Costa Mesa
Municipal Code.
Specifically, I find that the building fronting on Rairview Road
has broken glass which may become detar_hed or dislodged and thereby
injure persons.
I also find that all the buildings have become so dilapidated or
deteriorated as to become an attractive nuisance to children.
I direct you to either demolish these etructures or repair them as
provided in Section 403 of said Dangerous Buildings Code. If the
buildings are to be repaired, permits aust be obtained and work
started within thirty-five (35) days of this date. If the buildings
are to be demolished, permits must be obtained and demolition started
within thirty-five (35) days of this date.
If repair or demolition is not coffienced within the time specified, I
may proceed to cause the work [o be done and charge the costs against
you, as owner of The property, or against the property.
You are notified that you may appeal this order to the City Council of
the City of Costa Mesa, which is the appeals board. A copy of Chapter
- 5 of the Dangerous Buildings Code is attached which shows the form and
direction� for an appeal.
