A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE
SUBMITTAL OF TEN (10) IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS
TO THE ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION
AUTHORITY FOR FUNDING UNDER THE
COMPREHENSIVE TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM.
THE CITY COUNCIL. OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa desires to implement the transportation
improvements listed below; and
WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa has been declared by the Orange County
Transportation Authority to meet the eligibility requirements to receive Measure M
"turnback" funds; and
WHEREAS, the City's Circulation Element is consistent with the County of
Orange Master Plan of Arterial Highways; and
WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa will provide matching funds for each project
as required by the Orange County Comprehensive Transportation Program Procedures
Manual; and
WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation Authority intends to allocate
funds for transportation improvement projects within. the incorporated cities and the
County; and
WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa will not use Measure M funds to supplant
Developer Fees or other commitments; and
WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa will use Arterial Highway Rehabilitation
funding as a supplement to the existing pavement management program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the City Council of the City of
Costa Mesa hereby requests the Orange County Transportation Authority allocate funds
in the amounts requested in the City's application for Measure M Funds to the City from
the Comprehensive Transportation Programs. Said funds shall be matched by. funds
from said City as required and shall be used as supplemental funding to aid the City in
the improvement of the following intersections and streets:
• Harbor Boulevard at Adams Avenue;
• East 17th Street at Tustin Avenue;
• Harbor Boulevard at Wilson Street;
• Fairview Road at Wilson Street;
• Bear Street and Baker Street;
• Harbor Boulevard Between Law Court and Sunflower Avenue;
• Hyland Avenue at South Coast Drive;
• Harbor Boulevard at Victoria Street;
• Bristol Street at Baker Street; and
• Harbor Boulevard at Gisler Avenue.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of January, 2011.
