O 1. 36 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, CERTIFYING THE AVAILABILITY OF THE REQUIRED TEN PERCENT LOCAL SHARE OF THE TOTAL PROJECT COST FOR THE REHABILITATION OF THE BIKE TRAIL ON NEWPORT BOULEVARD BETWEEN ARLINGTON DRIVE AND FAIR DRIVE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the Bicycle Transportation Account (BTA) Program is funded and administered by the State of California Department of Transportation; and WHEREAS, the BTA Program provides $7.2 million for fiscal year 2001-02 to local agencies for projects that improve safety and convenience for bicycle commuters; and WHEREAS, the City intends to consider adoption of the Commuter Bicycle Strategic Plan (CBSP) at the July 2,.2001, City Council meeting; and WHEREAS, the Program requires local agencies to fund at least 10 percent of the project cost; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California, does hereby certify: 1. The availability of the required 10 percent local share of the total project cost for rehabilitation of the bike trail on Newport Boulevard between Arlington Drive and Fair Drive; and 2. The City Council's intent to consider the adoption of the Orange County Transportation Authority's (OCTA) CBSP subject to the inclusion and incorporation of City comments of April 30, 2001, for the necessary modifications. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the rehabilitation project will conform to the minimum design standards for bikeways in Chapter 1000 of the CALTRANS Highway Design Manual.
