HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-33 - Improvement Projects under the Arterial Highway Rehabilitation ProgramRESOLUTION NO. 09-3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL OF SIX IMPROVEMENT PROJECT(S) TO THE ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY FOR FUNDING UNDER THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY REHABILITATION PROGRAM. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: (a) WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa desires to implement the transportation improvements listed below; and (b) WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa has been declared by the Orange County Transportation Authority to meet the eligibility requirements to receive Measure M "turnback" funds; and (c) WHEREAS, the City's Circulation Element is consistent with the County of Orange Master Plan of Arterial Highways; and (d) WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa will provide matching funds for each project as required by the Arterial Highway Rehabilitation Program Guidelines; and (e) WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation Authority intends to allocate funds for rehabilitation projects within the incorporated cities and the County; and (f) WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa will use Arterial Highway Rehabilitation Program funding as a supplement to their existing pavement management program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa hereby requests the Orange County Transportation Authority to allocate funds in the amounts specified in the City's application to said City from the Arterial Highway Rehabilitation Program. Said funds shall be matched by funds from said City as required and shall be used as supplemental funding to aid the City in the improvement of.the following street(s): 1. West 17th Street from west of Superior Avenue to Placentia Avenue; 2. Bristol Street from Randolph Avenue to south of Bear Street; 3. East 17th Street from west of Fullerton Avenue to east of Orange Avenue; 4. Red Hill Avenue from Paularino Avenue to north of McCormick Avenue; 5. Red Hill Avenue from north of McCormick Avenue to Pullman Street; 6. Bear Street from Yukon Avenue to north of Baker Street. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of May, 20 2. ATTEST: T.
