A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA,
CALIFORNIA, REVISING THE PAY RANGES FOR TWO JOB- CLA-SSIFICATIONS
REPRESENTED BY THE COSTA MESA POLICE ASSOCIATION (CMPA). .
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE,
DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The following job classifications are hereby established and placed
under the Basic Pay Schedule for Sworn Police Officers at the pay ranges and monthly rates
of pay specified effective August 25, 2002. The monthly rate of pay may also be in
increments between the monthly minimum and maximum pay step. In addition, the City
pays the employees' nine percent (9%) retirement contribution to the . California Public
Employees' Retirement System (CaIPERS).

SECTION 2. Helicopter Pay Differential. The salary range for the Police Helicopter
Pilot classification shall be maintained at seventeen and one-half percent (17'/2 %) above the
salary range for the Police Officer classification. The salary range for the Police Helicopter
Sergeant classification will be maintained at twelve and one-half percent (12'/2 %) above the
salary range for the Police Sergeant classification. The pilots are not eligible to receive an
additional 2'/2 % for the Uniform Assignment Pay.
SECTION 3. All parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby rescinded.
