HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-05 - Allocate Funds for Design of Bristol-Newport Signal Improvement ProjectRESOLUTION NO. 03-5 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY TO ALLOCATE COMBINED TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM FUNDS FOR DESIGN OF THE BRISTOL -NEWPORT SIGNAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (00-CMSA-SIP-3030). THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation Authority approved a Combined Transportation Funding Program (CTFP) for fiscal year 2002-2003; WHEREAS, the CTFP includes Two Hundred Twenty -Four Thousand Nine. Hundred Fifty -Seven Dollars ($224,957.00) in fiscal year 2002-2003 for a signal improvement project on Bristol Street and Newport Boulevard; and WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa has .adopted a General Plan Circulation Element which does not preclude implementation of the Master Plan of Arterial Highways within its jurisdiction. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California, hereby requests the Orange County Transportation Authority allocate Twenty Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty -Five Dollars ($20,755.00) of CTFP funds from the signal improvement project for the construction of said project to the City. This request is in conformance with the CTFP allocation process and does not exceed ninety percent (90%) of the programmed amount or ninety percent (90%) of the construction contract. U BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Costa Mesa agrees to fund its share of the improvement costs of the above indicated fiscal year and any additional costs over the identified programmed amount. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Costa Mesa has awarded the contract for design services on January 21, 2003, for Twenty -Nine Thousand Five Hundred Sixty -Six Dollars ($29,566.00). BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the remaining ten percent (10%) in CTFP funds will be transferred to the City of Costa Mesa when construction is completed and a Final Report on the project is accepted by the Orange County Transportation Authority. The City of Costa Mesa agrees to submit the Final Report to the Orange County Transportation Authority within one hundred twenty (120) days after the City's acceptance of the improvements.
