This letter shall serve as confurnation that Baker Company has withdrawn as the fire sprinkler contractor for the
Enclave project previously approved and permitted under otu license number.
Furthermore we authorize permits F07-00174 through F07-00224 to be transferred to Residential Fire, the new fre
sprinkler cantracto� for the Enclave project.
It is my understending that Residential Fire will ha��e thcir own fire sprinkler plans approved and the pennits will now
be issued under their contractor's license and Baker Company will be completely removed from any connection or
liability with this project. No work has been preformed by Baker Company under thesc peimits.

As requested, NMG Geotechnical, Inc. (NMG) has prepared this document to present the
results of our geotechnical observation and testing during the precise and post grading
operations, and our special inspection services at the subject site. Representatives of NMG
provided geotechnical observation and/or testing during the precise and post grading operations
at the site. Our services duting grading activities included observation and testing during utility
line trenches backfill, footing excavations, and hazdscape subgade preparations. In addition,
NMG has performed special inspection services including struchu-al concrete. reinforcement;
struchual concrete placement; stressing of post-tension cables; welding; hazdware epoxy fix; and .
concrete compressive strength testing. Based on our observation and testing, the above
improvements were performed in compliance with our recommendation, project specification,
and the requirements of the City of Costa Mesa. Details of our observation and testing,
includingfield density test results and locations will be provided in separate reports.

Pursuam to your request, this office has made several site visits to the above described projea. The puTpose afffiis
vish on July 6, 2007 was to observe the placement of the various holddown hardware prior W the conaete pour.
Building l4 was obsetved during this �isit Minor items, such as holddowns without reinforcing within their shear
eones and minimum rebar elearance, were brought to the attention of the wncreu foreman and were cortected during
the pre-slab visit.
After the visit on July 6, 2007, Building 14 appeared ro be in substandal conformenee with the cast•in-plaee
holddown requiremenis of the Structurel Ptans_
This office made several site visits on Novembcr 9, 2007 and No�ember 12, 2007, eo observe rougf, framing for the
above mentloned building kr eonformance to the strucnval plans. Deficient items, (some w¢re qu;te m;nor), were
diseussed with either Tony Remos with Western National Conswetion m TtVR's Framing Foreman.
The rough fram;ng, after our last visit on NovEmber 12, 2007, had these deficient items corrected, and appeared to
be in substanrisl confotmance with the stnutural plans_
These observations are imended only to assist the framing contractor in confarmenec with the swctural plans as they
relate w this residentisl apartment project end are not to be construed as "Special Inspections^. The responsibiliry
for such plan conformance, of eourse, remains with the conuaemr. Please do not hesitate to contact me at my offee
