As requested, NMG Geotechnical, Inc. (NMG) has prepared this document to present the
results of our geotechnical observation and testing during the precise and post grading
operations, and our special inspection services at the subject site. Representatives of NMG
provided geotechnical observation and/or testing during the precise and post grading operations
at the site. Our services during grading activities included observation and testing during utility
line trenches backfill, footing excavations, and hazdscape subgade preparations. In addition,
NMG has performed special inspection services including structural concrete reinforcement;
structural concrete placement; stressing of post-tension cables; welding; hardwaze epoxy fix; and
concrete compressive strength testing: Based on our observation and testing, the above
- improvements were performed in compliance with our rewmmendation, project specification,
and the requirements of the City of Costa Mesa. Details of our observation and testing,
including field density test results and locations will be provided in separate reports.

visit on June 21, 2007 was to observe the placement of the various holddown hardware prior to the concrete pour.
Building 7 was observed during this visit. Minor items, such as holddowns without reinforcing within their shear
cones and minimum rebat clearance, wcre brought to the attention of the eoncrete foreman and were corrected during
the pre-slab visit
A@a the visit on June 21, 2007, Building 7 appeared to be in subsranaal confonnance with the cesbimpiaee
holddown requiremenu of �he Structural Plens.
This office made sevetal site visits on October l0, 2007 and November 2, 2007, ro observe raugh framing for the
above mentioned building for confarmance to the strucwral plans. Defici¢nt items, (some were quite minor), were
discussed with either Tony Ramos wich Westem National Construction or TWR"s Framing Foreman.
A subsequent field observation was also perfom+ed on November 2, 2007, to verify the top plate nailing conneet;ons
abore the hardy frame moment frame at the from of the garages. ?he rough freming az each gazage iront was verificd
to confrcm the adequacy of the connecdons and where needed to repair, speeific inswe[ions were given to tbe framer
