As requested, NMG Geotechnical, Inc. (NMG) has prepazed this document to present the
results of our geotechnical observation and testing during the precise and post grading
operations, and our special inspection services at the subject site. Representatives of NMG
provided geotechnical observation and/or testing during the precise and post grading operations
at the site. Our services during gading activities included observation and testing during utility
line trenches backfill, footing excavations, and hazdscape subgrade preparations. In addition,
NMG has performed special inspection services including structura] concrete. reinforcement;
structural concrete placement; stressing of post-tension cables; welding; hazdwaze epoxy fix; and
concrete compressive strength testing: Based on our observation and testing, the above
improvements were performed in compliance with our recommendation, project specification,
and the requirements of the City of Costa Mesa. Details of our observation and testing,
including field density test results and locations will be provided in separate reports.

This office made a site visit on October 5, 2007, to observe rough framing for tlie abo�e mentioned building for
conformanee to the struerural plans. DeScient items, (some were quite minor), were discussed with either Tony
Ramos with Westem National Conmvction or TWR's.Framing Forcman.
A subsequent field observation was aLso performed on October 19, 2007, to verify the top plate nailing connections
above the hardy frame moment frame at the front of the garages. The rough framing at each garage front was verified
m wnfirm the adequacy ofthe connections and where needed to repair, speeifie instruetions were given to the framer
to repair the deficient item.
'fhe rough framing, after our last visit on October 19, 2007, had these deficient items corrected, end appeared to be
in substantial conformance with the seruetvral pians.
These observations are intended only to assist the framing contractor in conformance with tha strucnual plans as they
relate to this residemdal apartment project and aze not to be conscrved as "Special inspections". The responsibility
