Dear Silvia:
This letter shall serve as confinuation that Baker Company has withdrawn as the fire sprinkler contractor for the
Enclave project previously approved and pefmitted under ota license numba.
Furthermore we authorize pem�its F07-00174 t}vough F07-00224 to be transferred to Residential Fire, the new fire
sprinkler cantractor for the Enclave project.
It is my understanding that Residential Firo will have their own fire sprinkler plans approved and the petmits will now
be issued under their contractor's license and Baker Company will be completely removed from any connection or
liability with this project. No work has been preformed by Baker Company under these permits.

Dear Mc Crosby:
Pursuant to your reques[, [his oflice has made several si[e visits to the above described project. The purpose of the
visit on June 19, 2007 was to observe the piacement of the various holddown hardware prior to the concrete pour.
Building 2 was observed during this visiL Minor items, such as holddowns without reinforcing within their shear
cones and minimum rebar clearance, were brought to the attention of the concrete foreman and were correc[ed during
[he pre-slab visit.
After the visit on June 19, 2007, Building 2 appeared to be in substantial conformance with the cast-in-place
holddown requiremen[s of the Struc[ural Plans.
This office made several site visits on September 13, 2007, September I8, 2007, and September 20, 2007, to
observe rough framing for the above mentioned building for subs[antial conformance to the structural plans.
Deficient items, (some were quite minor), were discussed wi[h ei[her Tony Ramos with Westem National
Construction or TWR's Framing Foreman.
A subsequent field observation was also perfortned on Oc[ober 13, 2007, to verify the top pla[e nailing connections
above the hardy frame moment frame at the front of the garages. The rough framing at each garage front was verified
to confirm the adequacy of the connections and where needed to repair, specific inswctions were give� to the framer
to repair the deficient item.
The rough framing after our last visit on October 13, 2007, had these deficien[ items corrected, and appeared to be
in substan[ial confortnance wi[h the structural plans.
These observations aze intended only to assist the framing contractor in conformance with the structural plans as they
relate [o [his residential apartmen[ project and are not to be conswed as "Special Inspec[ions". The responsibiliry

results of our geotechnical observation and testing during the precise and post grading
operations, and our special inspection services at the subject site. Representatives of NMG
provided geotechnical observation and/or testing during the precise and post grading operations
at the site. Our services during gading activities included observation and testing during utility
line trenches backfill, footing excavations, and hazdscape subgrade preparations. In addition,
NMG has performed special inspection services including structural concrete reinforcement;
structural concrete placement; stressing of post-tension cables; welding; hardware epoxy fix; and
concrete wmpressive strength testing. Based on our observation and testing, the above
improvements were performed in compliance with our recommendation, project specification,
and the requirements of the City of Costa Mesa. Details of our observation and testing,
including field density test results and locations will be provided in separate reports.
